A weekend holiday

Went for a holiday last weekend and went to two places, Hanmer Spring and Kaikoura. Hanmer Spring in near the mountain ranges while Kaikoura is a sea town. Two different setting with 2 totally different shooting experience.

I couldn’t get a good shot in Hanmer Spring, due to my lack of information and ill preparedness to take photos there. It might be a nicer place to shoot in the Autumn.

But Kaikoura seems to be more easier for me to shoot, since I’ve already a preconceived idea of my composition. It’s going to be a standard seascape shot, with a foreground and background. And taken at twilight will have a slow shutter speed to smoothen the water a bit. So, the only problem was getting a subject matter. Went in the morning and took some shots and got one that I like.

I also wanted to do minimalist shot with a rock formation.
