What is… wide angle lens?

Basically by convention a wide angle lens is any lens with the focal length of less than 50mm on a 35mm format (full frame) camera.  Most wide angle lens for full frame camera starts with 35mm focal length. While anything less than 24mm focal length for full frame camera is considered as ultra wide angle lens.
